Review your agent's proposals
When an agent connected over MCP proposes changes to your design system, such as a new rule, a scope rule, a principle, a pattern or token values, a change waiting for review is not applied yet. If your governance policy applies a kind of change automatically, that change is applied as it's proposed and shows on the page as already approved. The agent gives you a link like app.presetai.dev/approve/<session>. That page shows every change the agent proposed during that task, so you can decide them together.
Opening the link
Sign in if you're asked to. You'll come straight back to the page. The link only opens for members of the org that owns the design system. A link that has been mistyped, that names a session that doesn't exist, or that belongs to an org you're not in shows the same message, "This link doesn't open a review." Ask the agent for the link again.
The page shows the design system the agent proposed changes to, which may not be the one you're working in. Opening it doesn't switch your active design system.
Reading a proposal
The list on the left shows each proposal and whether it is still to decide. A proposal marked clashes with 1 has another pending proposal that would write the same thing: the same rule, principle, pattern or token, the same file pattern for a scope rule, or the system mode. Select a proposal to read it on the right:
- Decision: for a rule, one sentence saying what approving does to matching code. preset AI works that sentence out from the change and the current rule, not from the agent's description. For other kinds of change, the agent's own reason is shown and labelled as the agent's.
- What changes: the change itself. On an update to an existing rule, struck-through text is what your design system has now and underlined text is what the agent proposes. Long passages that were mostly rewritten are shown as a whole before and after.
- Also pending on this: any clashing proposals, with a link to each in Proposals. Approving one doesn't decide the other.
Approve and Reject come after the change, so you read all of it before deciding.
Approving and rejecting
Choose the approve link or Reject, add a note for the agent if you like, then confirm. The agent can read your decision and your note as soon as you make it. The page then moves you to the next proposal that's still to decide.
An approval applies exactly what was on your screen. If someone edits the proposal or the rule it changes after you opened the page, the approval is refused and nothing is applied. The page shows the current version and says "Not approved. The rule changed after you opened this page." Read it again, then decide.
A proposed pattern can't be approved if your design system already has a pattern with that name. The page says so and offers only Reject; ask the agent to propose it under another name if you still want it.
Some clashing proposals are reviewed in AI rules rather than Proposals. If the page belongs to a different design system from the one you have open, the link switches you to it on the way.
If you can't decide
Deciding needs an owner or editor of the org. Viewers see every proposal in full, without the approve and reject controls. Use Copy link to send the page to someone who can decide.
A teammate's agent
If someone else's agent made the proposals, the page says whose it is. An agent on an API key is named by the key, and a GitHub Actions workflow by its repository. You can still decide them if you're an owner or editor.
Every proposal on this page is also in Proposals.
